King Ludwig II (25.08.I845 - I3.06.I886)
became King of Bavaria at age I8 in I863.
At the time Germany was still divided into independant Kingdoms, Principalities, Cities and States
some of them are now Bundesländer or part of them.

King Ludwig II loved music and theater, especially Richard Wagners operas.
Neuschwanstein is the most famous of the 3 castles he build ( also Linderhof and Heerenchiemsee)
He died in a strange accident on the lake of Starnberg.
